The popular "American Werewolf in London" is going to get a remake. "The Walking Dead's" Robert Kirkman and David Albert will produce the film through their Skybound Entertainment for Universal Pictures.

Reports from The Guardian shows that the "American Werewolf In London" movie is to be remade by the son of original director, John Landis, who is the son of Max Landis. He directed the 1981 comedy horror movie. John will write the script and direct a new version of the story with the forthcoming movie.

It was after the elder Landis and filmmaker, Anthony Walker seal  a deal with the studio or the rights that the deal of John is also being negotiated. Skybound has a first look production deal with Universal.

Deadline reports, Todd Garner will be the producer and John Landis will be the executive producer along with Broken Road's Sean Robins, Circle of Confusion's Matt Smith and Producer Andy Trapani as told by John Landis. He also added, that he's been working over 10 years to put this together.

The original movie, "American Werewolf In London"  is marking its 35th anniversary and it was the idea of John Landis-starring David Naughton. His character was very well known for his Dr. Pepper commercial.

The kids were attracted by a werewolf while hiking a vacation in England, and followed by  Graffin Dunne and Jenny Agutter. The character of  Dunne is then taken off the film, and Naughton's character is transformed into werewolf. The first ever Oscar for makeup work was received by this movie, also with Rick Baker winning the first of his seven Academy Awards.

There was one feature in the previous American Werewolf In London, the poorly received Me Him Her. He is a well known writer and has his credits with Mr Right, Chronicle, and TV show Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
