Last year, Apple surprised everyone when it didn't produce a successor to the iPad Air 2. Instead, the California tech giant released the 12.9-inc iPad Pro - its contender against rival Microsoft's Surface Pro 4. Now, rumors say that a successor - dubbed the iPad Air 3, in in the works for release this year.

Speculations indicate that the iPad Air 3 will be a lower version of the iPad Pro, and it might be a smaller 9.7-inch version. Upgraded features are, of course, expected from the iPad Air 3. An A9 processor - faster and better than the A8 processor, might be used on the iPad Air 3, and it might have at least 3-4GB worth of RAM as well. 

The iPad Air 3 may have a 9.7-inch screen display, although it remains unclear whether it will sport the same features as that of the Apple Pencil-compatible iPad Pro or remain just like a regular iPad. Nonetheless, the iPad Air 3 is expected to have a better display quality compared to its predecessors.

In a blog report of a rumor website named iPad Air 3, the new iPad Air will have a sleeker and slimmer design compared to previous models. That will surely make the new computer tablet more lovable. In terms of storage design, Apple is reportedly planning to offer either 16 GB or 32 GB as its most basic storage design offering.

Value Walk also reported that a dual-lens camera is floated as among the additional features of the iPad Air 3. That will surely put the computer tablet at par with the iPhone 7 Plus - Apple's current showcase in dual-lens mobile camera technology.

Rumors say the new iPad Air 3 will be coming with a base price of USD 610 for the basic model. Differences in pricing, of course, is based on the amount of storage space.
