On Saturday night, three people were killed in a shooting in Myrtle Beach, a favorite seaside resort town for many on the East coast.

According to USA Today, an unidentified suspect opened fire Saturday night at about 9:30 p.m. at people walking on Myrtle Beach's new boardwalk. Police reported to the scene, however, as they arrived, there was another shooting at the Bermuda Sands Hotel at around 11 p.m.

"We've got detectives working on it around the clock," Captain David Knipes, spokesman for the Myrtle Beach police, told the Associated Press on Sunday. "We don't have any suspects in custody."

Police said that they still must determine the cause of the shooting.

"The dude who got hit I mean it was just crazy," Jamont Samuel told the station. "He ran around the corner and I guess his adrenaline was pumping. You could see where he eventually fell and collapsed."

Another witness, George Covington, told The Sun News that he had seen people fighting on the boardwalk before the shooting.

"At first, everyone was standing around to see who was going to win the fight," Covington told the newspaper. "Then they started shooting and everyone scattered. They started to come back and then I just heard [several gunshots], then everything was quiet."

The victims' names and information were released by the Horry County Coroner's Office this morning. Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler identified the victims as Jamie Williams, 28, of Ladson, Devonte Dantzler, 21, of Summerville, and Sandy Gaddis Barnwell, 22, of Summerville. He added they all died from trauma to their vital organs due to gunshot wounds, reports WBTW News 13.
