It's been only some time since the Mi Mix, a completely slim smartphone from its Chinese firm Xiaomi. The Xiaomi Mi Mix turned out to be a fabulous device both in terms of design and performance. It also managed to achieve its target of securing some of the best reviews for a smartphone with the majority of the reviewers highly praising its screen to body ratio and the impressive display panel itself.

Seems like Xiaomi is already in the process of bringing out the successor the original Mi Mix, with the announcement of the Mi Mix II from the CEO Lei Jun himself in a statement on the Chinese website Weibo. A translation of it on GSMArena reveals that the initial success of the Mi Mix has led to an immediate development for the second generation of the said smartphone that'll also be designed by the same French designer Philippe Starck.

As of now, there's pretty much nothing known in terms of hardware specifications or the display resolution in itself. But if the reports are to be believed, Xiaomi are trying to either maintain the same screen-to-body for the Mi Mix II ratio or go further down and design it in a way that the front panel entirely is only consisting of the display itself and no physical buttons in the front. Another report from Android Headlines mentions that Xiaomi is very much trying to achieve an even greater display outdoing their initial 93.1% ratio that's currently in the Mi Mix.

The Mi Mix II is also said to be one of the primary projects of Xiaomi at the moment mainly due to the popularity of the first generation of the Mix smartphone. Xiaomi will likely release the product at the same time the Mi Mix was released. Other details also mentioned that the new smartphone might completely be made out of ceramic.
