The Necromancer has been an iconic character in "Diablo II," and now, after five years since initial release and three years since the excellent Reaper of Souls expansion, the Necromancer is finally coming to "Diablo III." Many have been asking why an iconic character like the Necromancer be imported in "Diablo III" just now, and the company immediately answered with, "why not."

According to IGN, Blizzard Entertainment is still currently supporting "Diablo III" with some regular updates and timely new content. But even so, creating a new character class, as well as importing it into the game itself, is a big deal.

The creation of a new character would require not only the development of a new and deep subset of items and skills, but it would also require several new game design that would play nicely with everything else that is already in "Diablo III."

However, the Necromancer is different, since it actually came from the same creative and experimental side of the original Diablo team that has also brought some of the craziest things in "Diablo III." An example of these crazy features would be the set bonus that activates a high-powered meteor shower spell with a mind-blowing cooldown time of eight seconds for each type of elemental skill a player uses.

One of the Diablo team has admitted that they have had a process that uses a lot called "Game Jams," where we set aside a few days, even up to a week, and let the team experiment on their own and let the odds be the decider. It was also during one of these said game jams that someone on the "Diablo III" team decided to recreate and incorporate the Necromancer.

According to Upcoming Video Games, it was actually a gamble for the team to bring back the popular-yet-forgotten class from "Diablo II" and see if they could make it work in the current "Diablo III" game, which is a faster-paced and more skill-oriented than "Diablo II." They only had a few days to pull this idea off, but once it was made known that the team was to recreate the Necromancer, immediate support from the community came, which sparked a much-needed momentum for the team to finally get it done.
