Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made several new demands as a condition for them to attend King Charles' coronation ceremony in May.

Sky News reported that the Sussex couple demanded to have a spot on the Buckingham Palace balcony appearance and a formal acknowledgment of their two children, Archie and Lilibet, during the May 6 ceremony.

An insider told The New York Post that the palace is still trying to "wrap up negotiations as quickly as possible."

The source noted that the palace cannot "go right up to the wire" as it could "lead to chaos." The insider said the Sussexes are pushing "to be included with the rest of the family at the Palace."

The same source added that it will also be Prince Archie's birthday, and they would "like some kind of nod" during lunch or drinks reception, even just a happy birthday for the young prince.

Another source told The Sun that Harry and Markle are being factored into the coronation planning despite their need to confirm their attendance.

The source said the Sussexes are included in the cars, the seating plans, and dining arrangements, among many others, with staff working on the expectation that they are coming.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Demands

The New York Post reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would not appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony if they decided to attend King Charles' coronation despite their demands to be included in the appearance.

The source interviewed by The Sun further noted that having three-year-old Archie and his younger sister Lilibet on the Buckingham Palace balcony had "never been a bone of contention" as small children cannot attend such events due to "restlessness and tantrums."

In addition, they will likely not be part of the family procession. Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex noted that an "immediate decision" whether the two will make the trip will not be disclosed.

In the coronation procession at Westminster Abbey, royal family members following King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will be Prince William, Princess Kate, and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Other royals who will make their way in the Gold State Coach are Princess Royal, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke of Edinburg, and the Duchess of Edinburg.

The remaining royal family members following the king include the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princess Alexandra, and the Duke of Kent.

King Charles' Coronation Plans

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be following the king and queen. Aside from the Sussexes, Prince Andrew and his children, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, are reportedly not part of the royal family procession.

Other royal families are also invited to the coronation as part of the tradition. Prince Albert of Monaco already confirmed that he and his wife will go.

The coronation will also host events such as cultural festivals, live music, and community workshops, including games and competitions.

During the ceremony, the recognition, the coronation oath, the anointing, the inauguration, and the enthronement and homage will take place, CBS News reported.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla 's final procession will head back to Buckingham Palace.
