Rapper Eminem has picked a fight with Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy after the businessman started rapping his hit "Lose Yourself" single while on the campaign trail. The rapper, also known as "Slim Shady," took offense to the politician's rapping of his famous song, even sending him a cease-and-desist letter.

Ramaswamy, a millionaire pharmaceutical CEO, made waves during the first Republican debate and is even placing second in many polls for the Republican primary. He is also known for rapping Eminem's "Lose Yourself" while campaigning at the Iowa State Fair. He has repeatedly done so since.

However, Eminem, a well-known critic of Republican frontrunner and former President Donald Trump, was not happy with the politician using his most successful single while campaigning and sent a cease-and-desist letter that demanded him to stop.

The Daily Mail received a copy of that demand letter, which was dated August 23. The song's licenser, BMI Records, informed a lawyer for Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign that they have "received communications from Marshall B. Mathers, III, professionally known as Eminem, objecting to the Vivek Ramaswamy campaign's use of Eminem's musical compositions."

Eminem reportedly reached out to BMI and asked that the Ramaswamy campaign's license to use his music be revoked. The BMI letter then notified the campaign that "this letter serves as notice that the Eminem Works are excluded from the Agreement effective immediately."

Should the Republican candidate perform any of Eminem's music after the letter was sent, it would be regarded as a "material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies respect thereto." In other words, Vivek Ramaswamy might get sued should he continue rapping "Lose Yourself" in public.

Vivek Ramaswamy Campaign Reacts to Eminem Demand

Following the cease-and-desist order, a spokesperson for Ramaswamy released a statement to the Daily Mail and referenced another Eminem hit, saying, "Vivek just got on the stage and cut loose. To the American people's chagrin, we will have to leave the rapping to The Real Slim Shady."

Before he started his rise in the pharmaceutical industry, Ramaswamy became a rapper and was even a fan of Eminem. He even had his own rapper name, "Da Vek." During a previous interview, he admitted that Eminem's "Lose Yourself" was his personal theme.

The pharma CEO claims he is a political outsider who is not under the influence of Super PACs. However, he has his own Super PAC and, according to The Guardian, has deep links to rightwing donors and influencers, including Peter Thiel and Leonard Leo.

Eminem Repeatedly Slammed Donald Trump in the Past

Eminem has not been shy about Politics and has repeatedly slammed politicians in the past. However, when it comes to Donald Trump, he really makes it known how frustrated he is.

"Watching him play to his base that thinks that he cares about them - and it's actually the people that he cares about the f**king least - if you're talking about his core being, you know, a majority white middle class, what I don't understand is how in the f**k do you feel like you relate to a billionaire who has never known struggle his entire f**king life," he previously said.

Eminem also slammed Trump supporters, according to Vibe, saying, "he's somehow still got them because he's brainwashing them into thinking something great is going to happen. Nothing's happening. Nothing is happening."
