Saying that the Brazilian leg of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour has been wild would be an understatement. First, it was hit with a tragedy after a fan died due to excessive heat, and now, another fan has just given birth when her water broke during the concert.

The fan death and excessive heat in Brazil postponed the concert. However, during Tay-Tay's Saturday performance, a fan, identified as 24-year-old Maria Mendes, fell ill. She said she was just feeling cramps, but in reality, her water broke just moments before Taylor Swift was supposed to take the stage in Rio de Janeiro. As it turned out, Mendes did not know she was pregnant at that time and thought it was just menstrual cramps.

In an interview with a local Brazilian outlet, G1, Mendes stated that she had been waiting several years to see her favorite artist take the stage. When she was finally about to see her idol, she said that she felt some pain in the morning but brushed it off as normal menstrual cramps. She still went to the venue.

"It was a pain that came and went, but it didn't cross my mind that it was a pregnancy contraction," she said. "I stayed from 10 am until the gate opened, waiting and hoping that the pain would go away soon, as it was close to the show."

However, the pain worsened when she reached her seat at Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium. This was when her water broke.

She was rushed to Salgado Filho Hospital. There, after an ultrasound, she discovered she was pregnant for the first time and then went into labor.

Mendes gave birth to a healthy baby girl, whom she named Maria Flor. She then admitted she had no clue she was expecting a baby despite dealing with constant muscle spasms, according to The Daily Mail.

Brazil Authorities Launch Investigation Into Fan's Death During Taylor Swift Concert

According to the Huffington Post, the company is being investigated for "the crime of endangering the life and health" of those who attended the show. The organizers reportedly forbade fans from bringing water despite the searing temperatures. Taylor Swift herself called them out on this and asked her own crew to distribute water to the fans.

"Event organizers will be called to testify, and other steps are underway to investigate the facts," a spokesperson for authorities in Rio de Janeiro said in a statement.

Fan Death During Taylor Swift Eras Tour Was a 'Big Miss' for the Organizers, Says Expert

Andrea Davis, the president and CEO of the Resiliency Initiative, spoke with USA Today and told USA Today that the organizing during the first day of the Taylor Swift Eras Tour in Brazil was a "big miss."

Her company, which consults on crisis management and risk mitigation planning, stated that the company "should have known about the weather," and added, "There should have been protocols for the venue. They should have made sure about the water accessibility, made sure there was plenty of water and if they ran out, had a contingency to get more. They should have had cooling stations and misters. And was the staff trained to be able to go out and see if somebody was struggling and get them to help?"
