On Sunday, Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio declared that President Barack Obama should use the U.S. military to help stop illegal immigration.

According to WND, Arpaio shared his unabashed opinions on New York's 970 AM The Answer on the Aaron Klein Investigative Radio show. During the interview, Arpaio was asked how he would advise the White House on immigration.

"If we are worried about the danger, then I would send the military across the border, work with their military bilaterally and get the job done," the sheriff said. "That's what I would do, and we'd clean up this mess."

Arpaio, who is known for being tough on immigration, said he would also work with the Mexico President Enrique Peña Nieto.

"Of course, you have to get the Mexican president to OK it," he explained. "I would just go in there and have a few drinks with him and get the job done."

The controversial sheriff shared his zero tolerance policy for illegal crossing of the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Why do they [undocumented immigrants] have to go to court?" Arpaio asked. "The minute you cross the border, put them on an airplane and send them back."

According to the sheriff, 38 percent of undocumented immigrants in his Maricopa County jails that are eventually sent to federal authorizes return "over and over again on various criminal charges, which violates their own policy and criteria ... they are supposed to be deported."

"I spent many, many years as a regional director in Mexico City, Central, South America, also other assignments. [I was] head of the DEA in Texas and Arizona ..." Arpaio recalled. "I would go back to what I did in Mexico. My agents carried guns, and we worked right along with the Mexican authorities locking up dope peddlers."

Ten months ago, a judge ruled that Arpaio's office was using its recurring immigration and traffic patrols to racially profile Latinos, Fox News Latino reports. Arpaio claims no racial profiling occurred and is appealing the ruling. Meanwhile, the judge implemented cameras in the agency's patrol vehicles and mandated training on proper arrests.
