Venezuelan duo Chino & Nacho may be known in the Latin music world, but they plan to move into pop music.

Their next album will see a change for the group, notes El Mañana.

"This album will change our sound, our history," Chino said. "We were trying to find what our next step would be, how to not sound the same and to add a different type of feeling to our music."

Archie Peña, who has worked with Gloria Estefan, Paulina Rubio, Thalia and Ricky Martin, will produce the CD. It is the first time they are using someone else to help mold their work. The duo decided to team up with Peña because they thought he could help them attain the sound they are looking for.

Chino & Nacho actually rejected four other producers before deciding on Peña.

The duo will work with an American pop singer, as well as other well-known Latinos and a reggae artist, but Chino & Nacho refused to reveal any names. The two are currently working on the album.

There might be one song that will be completely in English. The two are still not sure if taking the risk is the right choice.

"One has to keep evolving with their music," said Chino. "You can't put limits and you have to be versatile. Obviously, you can't lose the essence of who you are and just jump into any genre, but you have to at least try to add new elements."

As a small taste of what's to come, the group launched "Tú Me Quemas," which is less romantic than what people might expect of them.

"It's a song we felt we needed," Nacho said. "Our lyrics have always been about love, dedicated to women. The time came where we felt we needed to do something that was a bit spicier than what we had been doing."
