Madden NFL 2015 is rolling out more player ratings and the focus is on quarterbacks and running backs.

At the top of the list for quarterbacks is Peyton Manning, QB with an overall rating of 98 (OVR). Manning is 38 and went through a major neck surgery, but he had a record-breaking season in 2013-2014. His arm strength (THP) is trending downwards -- down to 86 (THP). He was given a perfect 99 rating for awareness (AWR) as well as a perfect 99 rating for short accuracy passing.

Analysis: Manning deserves to be one of the top QBs in the game, but his numbers seem a little inflated. As he gets older and runs into some hiccups with the Denver Broncos, he'll become inaccurate. He won't always have perfect game awareness and doesn't complete every short pass he attempts like his rating in these categories suggest.

Aaron Rodgers, QB, had a shortened 2013-2014 season because of injury but was still given a 98 OVR rating. He has arguably the strongest arm in the league and was given a 94 THP rating for that. He was also given a 90 rating for deep passes.

Analysis: It's surprising to see Rodgers have a 98 OVR rating after only being able to make it through half the season last year. He's definitely a strong-armed QB and capable of throwing the long ball, but he should have been docked a few points in his OVR rating for being injured last year.

Tom Brady, QB, didn't have his best season last year. He's still one of the best QBs in the game. A 93 OVR rating sounds just about right. It's his 15th overall season, so he could start hitting a slump. Like Manning, he was given a 99 AWR rating. He has a 93 THP and a 94 rating for medium passes.

Analysis: His 93 OVR ratings is very fair. Brady threw for only 25 TDs last year, his lowest since 2006 when he threw for 24. He still put up over 4,000 yards and he's still a winner. He'll be a great QB for gamers to play with in the game.

It's not surprise that Adrian Peterson, RB, is the top rated running back in the game. He was given a 98 OVR rating, and he probably deserves that. He has a 97 speed (SPD) rating and 95 elusive (ELUS) rating. He's just a solid RB that will make running the ball fun in Madden.

Analysis: Peterson is fast and hard to tackle. His 98 OVR rating is justified -- he's the best RB in the NFL.

Jamaal Charles, RB, received a 97 OVR rating, but a 98 SPD rating, a 99 ELUS rating and 99 Ball Carrier Vision rating seem over the top.

Analysis: The Madden rankers went a little overboard with this one. Charles will be nearly impossible to tackle and nearly impossible to catch up to when being chased by a defender. Sure he averaged five yards per carry last year, but not every single carry by him was a game-breaker.
