On Thursday night's episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Sylvester Stallone opened up about his unsuccessful "Star Wars" audition and his former hate for his fellow "Expendables 3" co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger, reports JoBlo.

Stallone revealed that he had auditioned for "Star Wars" prior to Harrison Ford starring as Han Solo in the movie. Stallone also mentioned that while auditioning for "Star Wars" director George Lucas, he could "instantly tell" that neither Lucas nor the rest of the casting panel were interested in him.

"Before he [Harrison Ford] did Star Wars, I had just finished Rocky, yeah, something like that, and I was going up for an audition. So I go in there and see George Lucas and the producer and I can tell instantly when no one likes you," Stallone told Jimmy Fallon.

"Not to disparage George Lucas, but after you've seen 100 people, you get tired, so you just hope that the guy in front of you just disappears, like, a spider eats me! And I was reading for Han Solo but I got maybe. Well, I got nowhere. I was there to read for it and they were like, "Guy, you're really, yeah, you're, um ..." I said. "Let me just make it easy for you: I would look like crap in spandex, leotards and a ray gun. I get it! Guys in space don't have this kind of face!"

Stallone then admitted that he and Schwarzenegger were competitive when it came to physical appearance and the roles they played throughout their career. He admitted that because of the friendly competition, they eventually developed a love- hate for one another.

"Well we were very competitive. Yeah, I think hate is a good word," he joked. "Did you ever hate somebody so much that you go, 'I gotta get to the gym.'"

Despite his past competition with Schwarzenegger, Stallone later praised his co-star for being "brilliant."

"I think he's brilliant. What he's done, what he's accomplished. ... He's had three different careers, but I wanna strangle him," Stallone said.
