Riff Raff's throwback denim outfit may have made a statement on the red carpet at this year's VMAS, but Raff's ensemble failed to make an appearance in Sam Smith's VMA Instagram photo.

While attending and performing at the VMA's this year, Smith posted a photo of himself, Katy Perry and Charli XCX on Instagram.

"So amazing to see my girl @charli_xcx last night!!! Smashing it so hard #STROTFORD," he captioned the photo.

But what appeared to be an innocent picture has now become the basis for a brewing feud between Riff Raff and Sam Smith because Smith chose to crop Raff out of the Instagram photo.

On Thursday, the Texas rapper took to Twitter to express his opposition toward Smith's cropped photo.

"THANKS FOR CUTTiNG ME OUT OF THE PiCTURE U CHUBBY LiTTLE FUCK FACTORY

P.S. YOUR FACE iS SUPER HUGE ‪@samsmithworld," he tweeted.

Riff Raff continued on his rant by dissing Smith's mother. "YOUR MOTHER GETS SHAP PAR RONED BY CUNTBERRY JONES," he said.

On Friday, Riff Raff concluded his rant by slamming other artists that have tried to "shade" him.

"iM A ROOKiE RiGHT NOW BUT i PROMiSE YOU EVERY SiNGLE FUCKiN BiTCH ASS ARTiST WHO TRiES TO SHADE ME i WiLL VERBALLY DiSMANTLE YOUR A**HOLE," he tweeted.

So far, Sam Smith has yet to respond to Riff Raff's tweets.

However, Riff Raff and Sam Smith fans have come forward to share their opinions on the cropped photo.

Instagram user @love_694life came to Smith's defense and commented, " Y y'all on Sam riff is a ugly piece of Sh*t anyways Sam Smith is perfect."

Another Instagram user @germ.pool came to Riff Raff's defense. "Sam Smith I never even heard of you. You suck chubby f**k boy," the user wrote.
