While fans anxiously wait for the start of the sixth and final season of "Parenthood," NBC gave viewers a sneak peek at what's to come in a new batch of photos.

The first photos of Season 6 of "Parenthood" show mix emotions and interactions between the stars of the show, notes TVLine

In one picture from the first episode of the new season, which is titled "Vegas," Sarah and Zeek share a toast at a bar.

Kristina appears to share a touching moment with her son Max in one photo, while in another, she seems to be standing in a building. Another pic shows Drew and Natalie working together to paint that same building.

Hank looks somewhat apprehensive in one of the pictures, meanwhile Adam displays a look of content and happiness in another.

"Parenthood" show creator Jason Katims warned that TV fans should brace themselves for heartbreak and a death in the family in the upcoming season.

In a recent interview with TVLine, Katims hinted that the Bravermans will face a new challenge when they lose a precious loved one.

"We've never told a story about losing someone in the family, and that is a very difficult story for us to tell. But it's one that I feel is a reality," Katims said.

There will also be a change in the dynamic of Joel and Julia's rocky marriage in Season 6, "where it's Joel who's trying to get back into Julia's good graces. It's about refining Julia, who decides to move on with her life," the executive producer said.

In addition, Hank's ex-wife Sandy, played by "Breaking Bad" star Betsy Brandt, will move back to the area with their daughter seeking parenting help to raise Ruby, who is now at a difficult age.

Season 6 of "Parenthood" is slated to begin on Sept. 25 on NBC.
