Actor Chris Pratt is gearing up for his first hosting of "Saturday Night Live" in its season premiere this weekend, but took time to share details about his happy life at home.

His wife, actress Anna Faris, and he have been married since 2009 and have a 2-year-old son, Jack, together.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star said that he and Faris are very happy together, despite having "strangely similar" lives and careers to each other.

"There are many, many similarities to our lives," the 35-year-old said. "It's one of those things that that makes you realize things are meant to be and they're working out the way they're supposed to."

Both of the performers' career paths began in horror movie spoofs, Pratt in "Cursed Part 3" and Faris, 37, in the popular "Scary Movie" series.

"Mine was not quite nearly as successful as 'Scary Movie,' but I was in a movie called 'Cursed Part 3'...That was my first gig," Pratt jokingly told E! News.

Beyond that, Pratt added, "[She and I are] both from the Pacific Northwest in Washington State. I grew up 20 minutes from her. I played football on her high school field."

The "What's Your Number?" and "Take Me Home Tonight" co-stars also have the same sense of humor, which according to Pratt helps build their relationship.

"A lot of times if you date somebody or are married to somebody that's really similar to yourself, it doesn't work, but for us it does work because we both happen to be completely in love with ourselves," the "Jurassic World" star laughed. "When I look into her eyes and see my own, it just makes me love her even more."

In his son's eyes, Pratt says he sees a future comedian.

"Tell me this guy is not going to be working in the halls of 'SNL,'" Pratt said as he showed the interviewer a picture of the little guy on his phone. "This guy, he's the man. He's really funny. He's just now getting to that point where he loves an audience and I think he's got no choice but to be a performer."
