The world is getting closer and closer to finding out the identity of the villain for "Star Wars Episode 7."

A new image was released this week by Star Wars Underworld that showcases what the villain is expected to look like.

This latest leak follows a massive leak from a few weeks ago when fans got to glimpse a batch of concept art, some of which also showcased the villain in an image that has now become iconic.

This latest image is actually quite different from previous ones of the villain. While the other images show parts of the skin and the eye of the evildoer, this latest image has his/her face covered up in a metallic-looking mask.

According to Making Star Wars, "Well, the person in the armor is 'the' cyborg and that is his armor for battle. In other words, this is the mask the phantom wears to cover his mangled face. His final design is closer to the crusader knight design but with some small variations."

Another unique feature of the image is the lightsaber, which is far different from previous iterations. There has yet to be a saber with a cross-guard, but this picture seems to hint at that possibility. The cross-guard also seems to be red which could imply that it, too, is part of the light beam. How will this be used in battle strategy? That could be an interesting choreography point for the upcoming movie.

While the images are getting around about the look of the villain, there is no verification on the identity of the evildoer. Early rumors indicated that Adam Driver's character would eventually turn into a Darth Vader-like villain. Based on all the previous images revealed, this would certainly support the notion that this villain is Driver's character. The actor has been very quiet when talking about the film and his role is largely being kept in mystery.

The other big rumor is that Luke Skywalker, the hero of the original trilogy, is actually the evil Sith Lord. The villain has been shown looking at a burnt up Darth Vader mask, adding some credence to rumor. Luke was Vader's son and would probably hold on to his memory in some way.

The new lightsaber also lends some support to this theory, albeit minimal support. In "Episode VI: Return of the Jedi," Luke is shown constructing his own lightsaber after losing his first one in the climactic duel of "Empire Strikes Back." Prior to that, there is minimal mention of Jedi constructing their own laser swords. In a world where Jedi are practically extinct (and Sith Lords dead as well), how would one learn to make a lightsaber? Unless, of course, that person has previous experience, as Luke clearly does?

Of course, this is merely speculation and there is certainly no given up to this point as to who might be the man behind the mask.

The film is slated for a December 2015 release and features original trilogy vets Harrison Ford returning as Han Solo, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa (or Skywalker Amidala if you prefer her birth names included), Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels. The newer cast members include Lupita Nyong'o, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis and Max Von Sydow.
