Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda pleaded not guilty on murder and drug charges Thursday, Arizona Central reported.

The rapper famous for the "Shmoney" dance that went viral on social media was held on $2 million bail.

Bobby, real name Ackquille Pollard, was charged along with his group GS9. The street gang is linked to a series of shootings.

Shmurda's lawyer Howard Greenberg said the artist was framed.

"He is a legitimate entertainer," Greenberg said. "He is rich. He is busy. He is always on tour."

Greenberg said Epic Records agreed to help Shmurda make bail although the label did not comment on that claim. Bobby was signed to Epic after his "Shmoney" dance went viral along with the "Hot Boys" song.

The Brooklyn rapper was arrested on Wednesday after leaving the recording studio. Police also raided the studio and found over 10 guns on members from GS9.

Authorities found two guns and crack cocaine in Bobby's car during the arrest. Police say he was arrested on conspiracy, reckless endangerment and gun possession.

James Essig, head of a New York Police Department unit that made the arrests, said Bobby and GS9's videos and songs are like a document of what they were really doing on the streets.

His "Hot Boy" song lyrics say, "Just caught a body about a week ago," referring to killing someone just last week.

Reports say that Bobby fired a gun through a crowd of people in Brooklyn this year and that he was present during a gun fight between rival drug gangs.

"My music is straight facts," Shmurda told New York Magazine. "There are a lot of gangsters in my hood."

The 20-year-old rapper said, "New York City is back. We rapping that real sh*t that people can relate to."

Bobby's "Hot Boys" video gained over 70 million views this year after being posted in March.
