Mario Balotelli has yet to find his mark for Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League, creating speculation that his current club will eventually decide to sell him in January.

Balotelli, who was acquired by Liverpool from AC Milan for 16 million pounds in August, has yet to score for the Reds in 10 Premier League matches, failing to live up to team expectations.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers recently admitted that Balotelli is not a good fit to the 3-4-2-1 formation that it is trying at this point, which means that the 24-year-old athelte is facing more time on the bench.

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini expressed interest in coaching Balotelli again, but Rodgers insisted that he will not sell the striker in January, saying that the Italy international could make an impact in the second half of the season, according to ESPN FC

"It is not something I have even thought about, to be honest," Rodgers told The Guardian, referring to the possibility of parting ways with Balotelli. "We have had a lot of games this season and a lot of competitions and at this moment the key for me is trying to keep this squad together."

Liverpool, which is still trying to find a new identity after allowing former star striker Luis Suarez to move to FC Barcelona in the offseason, are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table, with 25 points in 18 matches.

With Balotelli waiting on the wings for Liverpool, Rodgers is still optimistic that the team will turn its fortunes around in the second half of the season.

"We know that we will be much better in the second part of the season as long as we keep the momentum going," said Rodgers, whose team is currently eight points behind Southampton for the fourth spot in the table. "That's what has happened in each of my two seasons here. We've got better and better as the season has gone on. The idea at the start of this season was to do well in the cup competitions as well, to try and win a trophy."
