The United States of America and Switzerland will play each other in an international friendly exhibition game on Tuesday afternoon.

These two national teams don't have large rivalry with one another, but they have met in many exhibition games, and even a FIFA World Cup game. The United States and Switzerland tied in a 1994 FIFA World Cup group game 1-1.

Let's preview this exciting matchup and predict a winner.

USA (32)

The United States National Team ranks No. 32 in the world, and No. 3 in CONCACAF. Only Mexico (21) and Costa Rica (13) rank higher than the United States in the CONCACAF confederation. Jurgen Klinsmann coached the U.S. Team to a knockout stage appearance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but they lost to Belgium in the round of 16.

Goalkeeper Tim Howard will not be playing, as he has decided to take a one year break from performing with the US National Team. Instead, Nick Rimando (who plays for Real Salt Lake) will get the start against Switzerland.

When we last saw the U.S. in action on March 25, they lost to Denmark, 3-2. Jozy Altidore and Aron Jóhannsson scored the two goals for the U.S. More and more, losing leads is becoming a concern for this squad. Team captain Clint Dempsey will not be play because of a hamstring injury, and the retirement of Landon Donovan still has to be addressed.

Timothy Chandler will be the leader on defense, as Jermaine Jones is still recovering from sports hernia surgery.

Switzerland (12)

The Switzerland National Team ranks No. 12 in the world, and they have extremely tough competition in the UEFA confederation. Despite ranking as high as No. 12 in the world, Switzerland still sits behind seven European teams: Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Switzerland has qualified for the last three FIFA World Cups.

In Switzerland's last friendly, against Poland, they managed a 2-2 tie. Yann Sommer is expected to get the start in goal by manager Vladimir Petković. Team captain Gökhan İnler leads Switzerland's middle field alongside Valon Behrami and Gelson Fernandes against the United States.

Switzerland doesn't have a very powerful offense, but quality defenders such as Stephan Lichtsteiner, Johan Djourou and Steve von Bergen will make it challenging for the U.S. offense to get a lot of scoring chances.

Schedule, Where to Watch

USA and Switzerland will play each other on Tuesday at 12 p.m. noon EST at the Letzigrund Stadium at Zurich, Switzerland. The game will be televised on FOX Sports 1. You can watch a live game stream here.

Prediction

This should be a close game. Switzerland is obviously a more superior squad, and the U.S. is in transition, but Switzerland won't be at full strength. The U.S. needs this win to gain confidence back at home far more than Switzerland does. It won't be easy, but they can do it.

USA wins 2-1
