1. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

This film offers enough reasons for you to catch it such as the comeback of Legolas' character and to finally see the dragon, Smaug. If you are curious with how it will lead to the third movie, then catch this on the big screen.

2. The Selfish Giant

This is an art film that you should include in your Christmas movie list. It tells the story of a two odd kids who collect some scrap metals in exchange of cash. In short, if you want some intense British drama, then you should not miss this one.

3. The Wolf of Wall Street

Aside from the fact that it is starred by Leonardo DiCaprio, this is the fifth time that he has worked with the great director Martin Scorsese. Could this finally be the film that will render the great actor an Academy Award after having been only nominated at the Oscars twice?

4. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

With a sequel starring comedian Will Ferrell, can any other movie bring more fun than this Anchorman second movie this Christmas? It will also feature the rest of its silly characters portrayed by Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Kroechner.

5. August: Osage County

You can never go wrong with this movie since it stars veteran actresses Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. It also features actor Ewan McGregor and it is partly produced by George Clooney.

6. American Hustle

Once you get to see of how Christian Bale and Jennifer Lawrence look like in this movie, then you won't surely think twice about catching it. Plus of course, there's the much talked about kissing scene between Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence.

7. Labor Day

Simply put, this film has award winning actress Kate Winslet as a mother who realized late that he has given a fugitive a ride during the much celebrated labor day weekend.

8. Saving Mr Banks

It tells the life story of the author of  Mary Poppins, P.L. Travers. It stars Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson. The movie is perfectly family-friendly that everyone should watch this Christmas 2013 season.
