After Bayern's 3-1 loss to Porto, one could argue that Pep Guardiola's position with Bayern Munich is unstable.

And some teams are likely salivating at the prospect that one of the game's greatest tactical geniuses might be looking for a job.

One team dreaming of that possibility is Manchester City, a side that is likely to drop manager Manuel Pellegrini once the year is out. The Sky Blues are already out of the Champions League and out of the Premier League title contention with several weeks remaining.

If the scenario for bringing in Guardiola came about, there would be some structural changes to make at City. Guardiola's teams live and die with possession soccer and it is unlikely that he would change his stance in England with Manchester.

So players not suited for that style will have to go. There are reports that Samir Nasri, known for a lack of discipline, and Yaya Toure, who never had a good relationship with Guardiola, are on their way out to make room for Guardiola additions. Nasri does seem like an odd choice for departure, however.

Despite the discipline issues, the Frenchman is a world class passer and creative force. He averages 54.9 passes per game, but 2.3 of those are key passes; he is second in key passes per game on the team, second only to David Silva. He has six assists on the team, good for second on the squad. He is second on the team in passing percentage (a whopping 90.1 percent) for players with over 1,000 minutes played. He is third on the team with 0.8 crosses per game.

Of course, Guardiola demands discipline from his team and that might be an issue with Nasri who is known for those kinds of indiscretions. However, the 27-year-old could still grow and he might turn into a more disciplined player under a more demanding coach.
