Oscar-winning rapper Common has joined the cast of  the upcoming Warner Bros. film "Suicide Squad."

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Common has closed a deal to join the cast of the film, which will be directed by David Ayer. However, the role that the actor will play was not revealed.

The supervillain film already has Oscar winner Jared Leto as the Joker, Oscar nominee Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Ike Barinholtz, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Scott Eastwood will also star in the film.

There are also rumors that Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Lex Luthor, and Ben Affleck as Batman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will make cameos in the film. Warner Bros. is building its own cinematic universe and is already planning a Justice League film that could see all these villains fighting the superheroes.

"Suicide Squad" is the second of the DC films that Warner Bros. is planning in the next years and tells the story of imprisoned villains recruited by a government agency to perform covert operations. The movie is currently in production in Toronto and is slated for August 2016.

Warner Bros. is also finishing up "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which opens in March and is expected to be a huge hit. That film stars Affleck, Henry Cavill, Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa.

Common, who won the Oscar for his song "Glory" from "Selma," can currently be seen on screen with Liam Neeson in the thriller "Run All Night." He was also part of the cast of "Selma" and will be filming Relativity's "Hunter Killer" with Gerard Butler in July. The actor has also been seen in "LUV," "Pawn," "X/Y," "Now You See Me" and "Every Secret Thing."
