Sling TV launched two Latino add-on packs to their core package Friday. These two add-ons, one for sports and one for movies and telenovelas, will cost an additional $5 per month, in addition to the $20 per month core package, according to an emailed press release from Sling TV.

Deportes Extra is geared toward soccer enthusiasts. It will include soccer games and programming. The channels included will be Azteca, beIN Espanol, beIN HD (English), Univision, Univision Deportes and UniMas.

Peliculas & Novelas Extra will feature popular Spanish-language movies and telenovelas. The channels included will be Az Corazon, Cinelatino, De Pelicula, De Pelicula Clasico, Pasiones, Univision tlnovelas, Univision and UniMas.

By adding these optional add-on packages, Sling TV becomes the first Internet TV provider to offer a customizable mixture of Spanish and English programming.

"Bilingual millennials have asked for variety in content, language and mobility, and our offering of the most popular Latino genres makes it easy to customize a flexible, affordable solution," said Roger Lynch, CEO of Sling TV. "Over time we expect to expand our Latino offering with more sports, shows and movies that viewers want to see in the language they prefer."

Millennial Latinos are a hot consumer audience for new streaming products like DISH's Sling TV, as studies show they tend to stream more content and use mobile devices at a higher rate than the average U.S. consumer. The first official Internet TV subscription service in the U.S., for example, was DirecTV's Yaveo service, which launched late last year and offers exclusively Spanish-language movies and streaming television for Latino audiences.

We previously commented that Yaveo was likely to see heavy competition for Latino audiences as the Internet TV revolution gained steam, and with its Univision partnership and now two add-on packs, Sling TV is certainly following that strategy.

For Sling TV, both of the new Latino add-on packs include Video-On-Demand content that allows viewers to access select content at any time through their Sling TV subscription. More on-demand content will be added soon.

The two Latino packages can be added to the Sling TV "Best of Live TV" $20 core package. The core package includes ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, A&E, TNT, History, H2, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, IFC, El Rey, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, CNN, Bloomberg TV, Lifetime and Galavision.

Customers can also access WatchESPN and ESPN3 as well as Video-On-Demand content.

Sling TV also offers customers other packages to customize their TV experience. Customers can purchase HBO for $15 per month, or other packages like the "Sports Extra," "Kids Extra," or "World News Extra" packs. Each of these packs are $5 per month, added to the $20 monthly charge for the core package.
