Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has sold his Honolulu home, which he purchased just three years ago.

The Grammy-winning artist closed the deal for his Hawaii property for $2.7 million, $800,000 shy of his original asking price of $3.5 million early last year, Los Angeles Times reported.

The singer, known for "The Lazy Song" and "Billionaire," accepted a lower offer than the singer paid for it in 2012, which was reportedly set at $3.1 million.

The gated 4,124-square-foot abode built in 1991 display "reclaimed driftwood columns, stone floors and dark wood molding and ceiling treatments," the site noted.

Looking at its previous listing on Zillow, the buyer scored a major retreat home from the famous singer. The 2014 listing described it as an estate with "extraordinary privacy, renowned luxury in coveted Portlock, Hawaii Kai." The property boasts a "easy ocean access for water sports & romantic sunsets."

Architectural details include soaring ceilings, open floor plan and use of rare hardwood materials.

The relaxing Portlock residence also rests on around 0.36 acres of Hawaii land, having four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The new owners will also enjoy the home's formal dining concept emphasized better by the presence of a chef's modern kitchen. The estate also features a guest room, living room and huge bedrooms.

Outside, the new owners can take a dip in the expansive swimming pool area, complete with cabana, gas grill and kegerator. Mature palm trees add to the tropical resort vibe of the former home of the 29-year-old Grammy-winning artist.
