Calvin Klein has recently acquired a modern and chic showplace in Los Angeles, worthy of his high-profile status in the fashion industry.

The 72-year-old designer, who founded Calvin Klein, Inc., dropped $25 million for a Hollywood Hills West property, Los Angeles Times reported.

The talented designer bought it for $7 million less than its initial listing price of $32 million, set early this year. An entity, controlled by Dean McKillen, son of known Irish investor Paddy McKillen, bought it for only $6.3 million, three years ago.

The agents who brokered the sale were Tyrone McKillen and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie's International Real Estate, representing the seller and Jeff Kohl of The Agency, representing Klein.

The house was said to be designed by architect Paul McClean who was trained in Ireland, noted McCleanDesign.com.

The website stated that McClean's projects "reflect an interest in modern living" while being one with nature. Thus, his works usually utilize "glazing systems to maximize views and provide a warm light filled contemporary space."

The Times observed that the architect employed sleek and clean lines and spanning glass panels to achieve that modern appeal and naturally-lit living space. A notable feature of the establishment, which complements the fashion genius, is the floating catwalk entry. The Hollywood Hills West showplace also displays soaring 13-foot ceilings that create an airy and comfortable ambiance. It is also accented with high-end and intricate finishes.

The 9,350-square-foot house consists of five bedrooms, a formal living room, and a dining room. The dining area is equipped with a wine cellar. There's also a water lounge, terraces, a wet bar and an observation deck that offers panoramic views of the city.

Outdoors, the grounds are highlighted with an infinity-edge swimming pool and a towering waterfall feature.

Klein will find his master suite relaxing as it comes with an access to his personal terrace overlooking the beauty of his landscaped grounds and the city skyline.

Photos of the property showing the expansive master suite and other rooms with sleek features that clearly represent McClean's creative genius can be seen on LA Curbed.
