At the end of Season 10 of "Supernatural," Dean (Jensen Ackles) killed "Death" and released the Darkness. But this upcoming season on the CW may have more in store for the show than having the Darkness play a central role.

According to TVLine, the repercussions for killing Death could be of far greater consequence than the Darkness, given that there are so many different things that could go wrong without Death in the picture. So what does that mean for Sammy (Jared Padalecki) and Dean?

It is highly likely that Dean will now have to take on the role that Death has played in the universe for so long, which essentially could lead him to an eternity of misery.

Executive Producer Jeremy Carver told TVLine that the repercussions could happen "to a certain extent -- and probably in the first batch of episodes, we'll start to address that." He added, "You can imagine that it causes some issues."

That only makes sense that Dean will have to in some way make up for his actions and bring some stability to the situation. This happens on the heels of Sammy and Dean's new reconciliation that will put them back together like they were in the original series episodes.

An article on International Business Times surmises that the killing off of Death could mean that several "lost souls" had been released, which could lead to a lengthy season of chasing them down and putting them back into a safe place.

Of course, this is a storyline that could help fill out the season and lead to an epic climax once Dean and Sammy have to face the final showdown with the ancient Darkness. One can only imagine how that might end up.

TVLine also reports that the femme fatale that shows up in the early episodes of Season 11 has been cast and will be played by Emily Swallow ("The Mentalist.")
