This year your favorite Latino stars will be gathering for one more award ceremony to celebrate Latin music for the first-ever Latin American Music Awards.

According to Billboard, due to the rise of Latin music popularity, Dick Clark Productions will produce the first-ever Spanish language American music awards to focus on the success of Latino artists in the U.S. This marks the first time that a Dick Clark award show will be recast for a Spanish-language version.

The American Music Awards have featured Spanish music nominations in the past, but this is the first time Latin music takes center stage.

"The awards celebration will honor today's most influential and iconic Latin artists, as voted by the fans in the traditional format of the 'American Music Awards,' the world's biggest fan-voted award show," Telemundo said in their announcement.

Fans will get to choose from a variety of artists within 20 different categories, which are set to be announced on Sept. 2, the same day that tickets for the event go on sale.

Voting for the show will be powered by Telescope Inc., who also handles voting for popular reality television competitions like "American Idol," "The X Factor," "The Voice," "La Voz Kids" and award shows like Premios Tu Mundo.

Artists are nominated based on the results of information provided by Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound, who track the airplay, fan interactions with music, social media activity and streaming services provided by Billboard.

Just like any other award show, the Latin American Music Awards will include a live one-hour red carpet show and will feature a variety of live performances. Performances will not, however, be limited to Latin musicians and will include English and Spanish music.

The Oct. 8 award ceremony will be hosted live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
