After going through a lot with marital and drug related issues for the past seven months, the former NBA star is back on his feet by singing for a Spanish club team, Laboral Kutxa.

The ex-LA Lakers basketball player signed for a two month contract with the Spanish team, making him not a free agent anymore, EOnline wrote. His contract also includes an option for him to play for an additional year. According to Laboral Kutxa President Josean Querejeta, they are pleased to have signed Odom, knowing the player's fruitful background in the NBA.

The 34-year-old player can soon be seen playing for the Spanish team as early as Saturday. Odom has played for three NBA teams in his resume namely the Dallas Mavericks, the LA Lakers and the Miami Heat.

Odom is not the first NBA player to have played for the Spanish team. Other names that were once involved in the team include Tiago Splitter, Jose Calderon, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic.

Two NBA teams, Lakers and Clippers, showed interest in signing up Lamar last summer until he got involved with controversial issues such as alleged drug use, extra marital affairs, and even driving under the influence, ESPN stated. His career also got into high risks when he became the daily topic in mainstream tabloid especially when it comes to news updates about his marriage with reality star Khloe Kardashian.

Reliable sports sites like the Bleacher Report believes that Lamar Odom can still live up to playing a valuable role once he starts playing for the overseas team.

He may not have made a mark when he played for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2011-12 season, he showed a highly improved performance when he was drafted with No.4 pick by the LA Clippers in 1999.

Lamar Odom's summer may have been certainly chaotic but his recent signup with Laboral Kutxa can definitely help him get back to his feet and lead them back to the NBA court.
