With Seattle Seahawks' loss to the St. Louis Rams, the players missed the team's safety Kam Chancellor even more.

Chancellor, who signed a $28 million, four-year contract extension two years ago and has actually two more years remaining in the deal, per an August ESPN article, skipped the training camp and is still a no show in the Seattle Seahawks' game against the Rams, ESPN noted. The three-time Pro-Bowl player felt he deserves more, NFL.com reported, citing Ian Rapoport.

Seahawks' defensive lineman Michael Bennett expressed that his co-players miss Chancellor "not just the way that he plays, but the way that he approaches the game, his leadership."

Even though they triumph against the Green Bay Packers on their next game, the Hawks will still not be the same without Chancellor.

"If we win on Sunday, people won't be talking about it. But at the end of the day, we all want Kam to come back. We all understand what his fight is. And we all want him to get his just due. And he is one of the best safeties to play the game, so I think we miss him. We just miss his love. He's our brother," Bennett said.

Seattle team's star cornerback Richard Sherman also understands and supports the safety's stand, Seattle Times noted. Sherman shared that he also feels for Chancellor in these times because most fans "feel like, you know about honoring contracts." But for them as players, they still understand "it's a business" to begin with.

Yet, what made Chancellor a valued team member was also explained by Sherman in his interview. The Stanford University alumnus was amazed how Chancellor showed his devotion to the game and his team. Sherman noted that Chancellor had an "80 percent torn MCL" while playing his best in the recent Super Bowl defense against the New England Patriots, who eventually triumphed in the 2014 season. This kind of sacrifice means their safety is not just on the field "playing for money" but really for his craft, Sherman said.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll sees the 27-year-old safety as someone who "stands for exactly what we love about this game and being a Seahawk," but essentially it would truly benefit the team if he comes back soon, News Tribune informed.

"I see Kam as a champion warrior football player, part of this team, and one of the ultimate leaders of this team. Of course, we need to get him back," Carroll said.

Chancellor posted 78 combined tackles for all 14 games played last season, per NFL.com stats.
