The second half of the Season 11 premiere of "Bones" will be an intense as the FBI continues to search for Seeley Booth as he copes with the tragic loss of his brother.

In last week's season premiere, Booth discovered that his brother, Jared, was killed. Booth was also kidnapped and left bleeding from a gunshot wound in a suspenseful cliffhanger.

Authorities will get closer to finding Booth in Thursday's all-new episode, which is titled "The Brother in the Basement." However, the synopsis teases that the team will discover that special FBI Agent Miller was initially holding back information that could have led to Booth's rescue.

"Another layer is added to the mystery of Booth's whereabouts and the state of his physical condition when the team learns that FBI Agent Miller (guest star Kim Raver) has not been entirely truthful with the FBI and the Jeffersonian, keeping vital information from them that could lead them to Booth," reads the synopsis, according to CarterMatt. Meanwhile, the Jeffersonian gets a surprise visitor, FBI digital forensic scientist Dr. Benjamin Metzger (guest star Josh Casaubon), who works with Angela to try to decode the information the team has been able to uncover regarding Booth's location and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Also, Arastoo makes a major decision that affects his and Cam's personal and professional relationship."

During an interview with E! News, series star David Boreanaz revealed that Booth won't go missing for long and will eventually return to his wife and kids. When asked what would prompt Booth to leave his tranquil life in early retirement in order to return to the FBI and take on a new case without telling Brennan, Boreanaz responded saying, "I think by the end of episode two there will be an answer to that and everyone will say, 'I get it now.' He has put himself in danger again and he has been shot and he's bleeding out and trying to figure that whole thing out, and at the end of it we'll figure out the understanding of his brother and how it's affected Booth," said Boreanaz.

Boreanaz also teased that his Booth's decisions will not cause a rift between him and Brennan.

"At the end I don't think she'll be as upset with him because we'll see why they go back to work. She'll get why he did what he did," he says. "There is a reason but I think he feels more responsibility towards being sorry about this reason and she sees it more of an understanding which brings them closer together. Which is cool. It won't divide them. It will bring them closer together."

By the end of "The Brother in the Basement," both Booth and Brennan will be heading back to their respective posts at the FBI and the Jeffersonian.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor said that fans should not expect Booth to mourn the loss of his brother for a lengthy time period.

"It won't be as dark because Booth's relationship with his brother was one where he couldn't help him while he was alive, and he couldn't help him when he was dead. There are things that happen where we can't find his ashes and there's a problem in the second episode. He feels like he can't help his brother, he never could help his brother. It's sad, but it's not the type of thing that will affect him long term," he said.

Episode 2 of Season 11 of "Bones," "The Brother in the Basement," will air on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
