Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt just got asked by a lady soldier as her date to a ball.

Army Pvt. Camille Coffey requested the dominant Wisconsin-born football player, via a 54-second video posted on Facebook, to accompany her to a formal event, Stars and Stripes reported. The ball invitation may also be viewed on YouTube.

"I'm hoping J.J. or someone who works closely with him will eventually see the video. It would mean so much to hear back from him," the New Mexico native told the Stars and Stripes.

Coffey reportedly could not believe the attention her video received, which amassed almost 685,000 views so far, per a Sporting News article. She also shared that she got "the idea" from a Marine who requested the UFC superstar and 2015 Best Fighter ESPY Ronda Rousey to be his date. The Marine eventually got his dream come true as Rousey accepted his invitation, The Washington Post noted.

Why she asked Watt

It is not surprising for fans to fancy Watt, especially with how he delivers great performance on the field whenever he plays. The 2012 NFL Defensive Player of the Year was even voted by his fellow league athletes as 2015 Number 1 NFL Player of Year, per NFL.com.

However, the soldier also told Army Times that Watt's good-heartedness, evident in his charitable works, is what actually impressed her and not just his athleticism.

"That's really what set him apart for me, as far as considering who I was going to ask. J.J. Watt is just an all-around great guy, much more than just an NFL player," the soldier currently based in Georgia said.

The 26-year-old player indeed aims to make a difference. His organization, Justin J. Watt Foundation, which has the motto "Dream Big Work Hard" seeks to "provide after-school opportunities for middle-school aged children in the community to become involved in athletics," to teach about positive values to these young individuals, noted the foundation's official site. The organization has already funded programs worth over $1,000,000 to date, noted the site.

Unfortunately, the Post noted that Coffy's event, the Military Intelligence Brigade holiday ball, is scheduled on Dec. 11, just two days before the Texans' showdown on the field with current NFL Super Bowl champions New England Patriots, to be held in Houston. Watt may have trouble squeezing it in his schedule, but who knows if he can make some time for it.
