Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom is on his way back to the town of his former NBA team. Just today, reports revealed that the former basketball star, who has been at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, is now being transferred to a Los Angeles Hospital.

There are no official reasons released as of the moment regarding the sudden transfer of the basketball star from one hospital to another, but according to E! News, Odom will only be transferred if his medical condition allows him to do so.

This means that Odom must be in a state where he can be airlifted through a medical helicopter from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. E! News further reports that Odom is still accompanied by his estranged wife and "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Khloe Kardashian.

"She goes everywhere with him. If Lamar leaves the room for testing, she follows," a source from E! News said.

In fact, the publication claimed that it will be better for Kardashian to be with Odom continuously just like she has since Tuesday last week, when Odom first arrived at the hospital unconscious from an overdose back at a Nevada brothel.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Daily News reported that the 35-year-old basketball star will be transferring to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, although there are no official details released by Odom's previous hospital with regard to the exact time of Odom's transfer.

Furthermore, the 35-year-old's health condition has rapidly progressed. E! News reported that Odom's health is improving daily and that he is "making fast progress." His CT scan results were also clean although cognitive issues were still not ruled out.

Odom also passed his swallowing test, which is reportedly a sign of neurological function. He also started communicating through hand signals and is "doing great with his breathing" without any oxygen mask, according to E! News.

Meanwhile, NBC Sports further speculates that Odom's health will continue to progress. Despite other things that are needed to be fulfilled health-wise such as further treatment and various therapies, the former NBA star is expected to survive.

In the coming months, E! News reports that Odom will need "a lot" of rehab regarding his physical health and his drug addiction problems that has been evident in his life for a couple of years now.
