Remember the limited edition Iron Man Galaxy S6 Edge+?  Well, an Ant-Man version could very well be on its way.

A fresh rumor on Chinese social media site Weibo has claimed that Samsung is planning to release an Ant-Man Galaxy S6 Edge+ anytime soon.

The limited edition handset is said to sport Ant-Man's red and black color scheme while having the superhero's iconic helmet emblazoned on its back, Android Headlines reported.

The rumor seems to hold some weight as Samsung has held a partnership with Marvel and Disney for quite some time now. The Korean mobile maker has made tons of tech props for the "Avengers" movie, and, as a bargain, Marvel and Disney have been more than amenable in flashing the Samsung logo in at certain parts of the film.

If the rumor turns out to be accurate, some might question Samsung's choice of character. But, then again, Ant-Man's motif seems to be more in line with the Samsung's sleek and sophisticated design as compared to Hulk's green or Thor's red, yellow and blue.  We'll just have to wait and see as neither Samsung nor Marvel have verified the report.

Regarding the specs of the Galaxy S6 Edge+, it released in August 2015 oozing with high-end features befitting a next-gen flagship smartphone. It rocks a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD- 2560 x 1440 display with a dual curved-edge design while running on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop straight out the box underneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI.

The SoC on board is the octa-core Exynos 7420 complete with the Mali-T760 MP8. Memory-wise, the device is equipped with 4GB of RAM that is offered in either 32GB or 64GB storage space variants.

In the camera department, there's a 16-megapixel back camera that supports LED flash, manual focus and autofocus. Meanwhile, the device's five-megapixel front-facing unit is capable of dual video call and Auto HDR, per GSM Arena.

Lastly, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes with a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery and supports basic smartphone features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE connectivity.

As for Ant-Man, Marvel confirmed earlier month that it has restructured its Phase 3 schedule to make room for an "Ant-Man" follow-up movie titled "Ant-Man and the Wasp." The title is of some relevance in the MCU as it will be the first time a Marvel film bears the name of a female superhero.

The sequel will hit cinemas on July 6, 2018, replacing the release date of "Black Panther."

According to ScreenCrush, "Ant-Man" has grossed $178.5 million domestically and $231.3 million worldwide. It is currently the ninth top-earning movie of 2015.
