Sprint recently introduced a new trade-in promotion that lets subscribers get a $200 minimum buyback when they trade their incumbent smartphone for a new LG G4.

The mobile carrier stated that the traded-in smartphone must be in good shape and in working condition. However, it did not mention anything about the age or model of the handset, Android Authority reported.

It stands to reason that the deal applies to all smartphones, so long as they're still alive and kicking. This also means a subscriber can trade-in a fully functioning Samsung Galaxy S3 and still get the $200 credit prior to the purchase of the new LG G4.

Regrettably, only those on Sprint Lease and Easy Pay plans can avail of the offer. The discount does not apply to those planning to buy an off-contract version of Sprint's LG G4. Moreover, Sprint Wireless Advantage Club (SWAC) and Employee Wireless Discounts (EWD) accounts are also excluded from the discount.

If you think you're the right person who would benefit from this new trade-in promotion, head over to this link and type "200LG" as the promo code on the form. After you send back your old smartphone, a bill credit will then be sent to your account. The deal runs through Nov. 25.

When it debut in April, the LG G4 was considered by many as one of the most interesting Android smartphones of 2015. It was advertised as a mid-range handset, but some of its specs were pretty high-end.

Its specs include a 5.5-inch 1440 x 2560 Quad HD screen, Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset, the Adreno 418 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable internal memory and a 3,000 mAh battery.

In the camera department, the LG G4 is fitted with a 16-megapixel OIS back camera and an eight-megapixel selfie shooter. For the time being, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, but an update carrying the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS is expected to arrive before the year ends.

"It might not be as technically powerful as some of LG's other recent releases, but the G4 as a package is the most compelling the company has put out yet. From the pared-down user interface to the tight integration with Google to the strong camera performance, the G4 is a great phone," said tech reviewer Chris Velazco from EnGadget.

Tech Radar echoed these sentiments and stated that the LG G4 has everything everyone actually wants in a smartphone. It has a beautiful design, rich display and great camera combo. Although, the reviewer said the LG G4 didn't quite live up to its expectations.
