'Five Nights at Freddy's' Movie May Be Going Under 'Paranormal Activity' Horror Producers
The "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie may be under Blumhouse Productions, the same company behind "Paranormal Activity." A tweet from creator Scott Cawthon revealed a chair with the name Freddy with the logo of the company projected on a screen behind it.
The new movie is based on the game of the same name that has a cult following. According to IGN, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was announced in 2015 but there have been setbacks to its production. However, it looks like the movie will now be under Blumhouse Productions.
For those who don't know the game, "Five Nights at Freddy's" is a unique tale of how a security guard at a pizza joint is attacked by animatronic characters similar to that at Chuck E. Cheese's. Due to its massive success, the original game was followed by four more games.
The "Five Nights at Freddy's" game is known for being in the survival horror genre. It is mainly made up of scary looking characters and vast amounts of jump scares that its fans loved.
Screen Rant reports that Scott Cawthon announced in early 2017 that the road to making the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was shaky. Even though numerous companies were interested in the making of the film, he blamed some of them for not being able to push through with it.
When the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was announced in 2015, "Poltergeist" director Gil Kenan was on board with the project. However, with its new association with Blumhouse Productions it is not known if he is still on the film.
There is no clear confirmation yet if the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie will be moving on to Blumhouse Productions. Scott Cawthon's tweet may very well mean another thing.
