Sony Computer Entertainment's Andrew House recently talked about the PlayStation 4's sales status and specifically mentioned Black Friday as the peak of their sales.

In his interview with the Financial Times, he said, "We've just seen the most successful Black Friday in the company's history. We are now trying to benchmark against the success of the Play Station 2, or exceed it if possible." The comparison between Sony's two consoles came from PlayStation 2's incredible sales during its time, and with PlayStation 4 nearing those numbers, the management can't help but compare.

Phenomenal as it may seem for the PlayStation 4 sales, the company also said that the reason that the PlayStation 2 remains to be saleable is because of its long life. Its sales record that remain competitive after 10 years only proves how the PlayStation 2 was well-accepted by the consumers.

If PlayStation 4 needs to be acknowledged like that, it should maintain its impressive market sale for another five years and Sony will get a good competition for its PlayStation 2 console. Sony's PlayStation 4 is about to enter the Middle East and China, so sales may not be hard to hit.

Aside from PlayStation 4's successful Black Friday, it also received a totally unexpected feature that Sony has been turning down in the past, a likely backwards compatibility scheme, but of course, they won't call it like that.

According to GamesRadar, Sony has ported some of PlayStation 2's games to the PlayStation 4 console, but it's still not called a backwards compatibility feature. Apparently, the current discs of the PlayStation 2 are still not compatible to that of the PlayStation 4, but the games were incredibly developed in order to get better resolution, smoother frame rates and Trophy support.

If you're wondering what has already been integrated to the PlayStataion 4 console, the games include "Grand Theft Auto 3," "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," "The Mark of Kri," "Rogue Galaxy," "Twisted Metal Black" and "War of the Monsters." These games are currently available on PlayStation 4 but more games are expected to come. The backwards compatibility feature has been popular with the Xbox One console, something that Sony did not consider before.

Are you excited to try some of PlayStation 2's popular games on your PlayStation 4 console? What do you think of Sony's sales during the Black Friday holiday?
