"Wrecking Ball" singer Miley Cyrus has been a big ball of emotions this week with the tragic news that her beloved dog Floyd has died and the joyous news of her new puppy Moonie.

On Tuesday, Cyrus took to Twitter to announce the death of her canine companion.

She tweeted, "Today is the 2nd worst day of my life," adding, "I don't wanna say it because I don't want it to be real... But my precious baby Floyd has passed away. I am broken." Cyrus then shared several pictures of herself with the dog to her Twitter followers and continued, "I know I don't mean it, but I wish he would've taken me with him. This is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him? I am miserable."

Her grieving did not stop there. Cyrus mentioned on Twitter that she may not be herself at her Boston show on Wednesday and she certainly stood true to her words.

On both her Wednesday show in Boston and Thursday show at New Jersey's Izod Center, fans saw a completely different side to the twerking pop star.

Cyrus broke down several times during her Boston performance while singing "4x4" and "Can't Be Tamed."

An enormous inflatable dog resembling Floyd emerged center stage. Miley ran up to it, wrapped her arms around the leg, and completely lost it. Within moments, she was essentially on the floor while a dancer rushed the stage to comfort her, reports Chris Sosa from the Huffington Post.

On Thursday at the Izod Center, Miley's tearful performance was sparked during her cover of Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" and Lana Del Ray's "Summertime Sadness."

She apologized for what the crying was doing to her voice, but she didn't need to. Her audience -- mostly teenage and at least 90 percent female -- offered nothing but support, says the NY Times.

Thankfully, Miley's heart wrenching week did not end in tears. On Friday, Miley tweeted that her mother Tish got her a new puppy named Moonie to help her wipe away her tears.

"No one could ever replace my baby Floyd but this precious angel is lendin me some fur to cry on along with my other babies," the pop star tweeted. "Can't wait to introduce Bean and Happy to Moonie."

We wish Miley the best and we hope that, with the arrival of her new pup Moonie, Miley will be able to cheer up for her next concert show at the Barclays Center on Saturday. To check out lyrics for 'Wrecking ball' you can click here.
