Former NBA star Lamar Odom will not face criminal charges for the drug consumption that left him hospitalized last October, authorities said Monday.

According to Reuters, a spokesperson for the Nye County District Attorney said that, although there was evidence found that Odom had consumed cocaine during a weekend at the Bunny Love Ranch near Las Vegas, he was not found to actually be in possession of any drugs.

"It is unlikely it could established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County," Nye County District Attorney Angela Bello said.

The 36-year-old, known for his years playing with the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers basketball teams, suffered a severe stroke last fall as a result of a drug overdose. After months of treatment, Odom was moved from a Los Angeles hospital to a private rehabilitation center last week, according to E! News.

The news outlet also confirmed that Odom was seen in public last weekend for the first time since the incident.

While Odom has a long road toward full recovery, estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, who has been handling her spouse's medical decisions, said in a November interview with "Today" that doctors were optimistic.

"He is learning how to walk again and learning...cognitive therapy and speech therapy," she said. "They think, like, within a year and a half to two years that, mentally, he might be fully recovered. But they don't know."

Kardashian has remained by her husband's side throughout the recovery process. A week after Odom's collapse, she canceled their impending divorce, leading many in the media to believe the couple was back together. However, she later clarified the decision was made for medical reasons.

On Monday, the reality star posted a cryptic message to her Instagram, which read, "A girl once told me to be careful when trying to fix a broken person for you may cut yourself on their shattered pieces."
