Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took several swipes at Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders during his Monday night appearance on "The Tonight Show."

When asked about Clinton, the GOP front-runner argued that she is having a "tough time" in the primary race against Sanders, as polls show the two are running neck-and-neck in Iowa and New Hampshire. According to Trump, Sanders should be easy for Clinton to defeat.

"She certainly has a race that's a lot different than people thought," Trump told late night TV host Jimmy Fallon.

"He should be easy to beat," Trump said, adding that Sanders is not a real Democrat.

"I mean, how can you lose like this?" Trump said. "He really isn't even a Democrat. But he said he's a socialist, and I think he may be a step beyond a socialist. ... I think she'll win, I guess."

The billionaire businessman also acknowledged the attacks he unleashed against the former secretary of state, while hinting that he plans to turn it up a level.

"She came out with a little bit of a statement about me and I came out with a very big statement about her and Bill, and she stopped talking about me all of the sudden," Trump said of his recent jab at her husband's infidelity. "I'm winning against Hillary one-on-one. And I haven't even started on her yet, although last week I did a little bit. But we haven't even started."

At another point during the interview, the real estate mogul joked that his strongest attributes include being "an extraordinarily handsome person" and having "a beautiful head of hair."

He added that another one of his strengths is "believe it or not, bringing people together. A lot of people would say it's the exact opposite. I'll get along with democrats, liberals, conservatives."
