Earlier this week during his campaign appearance in Sarasota, Florida, presidential candidate Senator Marco Rubio slammed his rival Senator Ted Cruz for his tax laws. He hinted that Cruz's gesture to support value added tax is an "intentionally sneaky" way to draw out more money from the public to make the government bigger as per Latino Fox News.

During his speech in Sarasota, Florida, Wall Street Journal reported that Senator Marco Rubio stated, "Republican candidates today try to hide their support for the value added tax by renaming it a 'Business Flat Tax,' But don't be fooled. If it acts like a VAT, taxes like a VAT, and grows government like a VAT -- it's a VAT."

Though he did not pinpoint the fact that he was referring to Cruz, his followers however are well aware that it was Cruz whom he was talking about.

Rubio is now comparing himself with Cruz when it comes to tax issues. He on the other hand is in favor of 16 percent business flat tax, which can be used for government funds. He also added that he is in support of the personal income tax which is 10 percent of the employee's wage.

As for Cruz, however, Rubio stated that the value added tax can have a great impact on both the workers and the consumers as it is sneaked into prices and wages.

Rubio then added that "low-income households and the elderly" are the ones that would be greatly affected by Cruz's tax plan as per WSJ.

Senator Ted Cruz on the other hand stood by his tax plans stating that they are simpler as they do not have a negative effect on investments. One of the presidential candidates, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, shares the same vision as Cruz in terms of the tax plan.

In addition to his tax plans, Rubio also stated that he will put an end to the country's debts, which will hit around $20 trillion by 2017. As America's debt continually increased, both Democrats and Republicans are to be blamed for the country's increasing debt toll, with which Rubio referred to as the "most predictable crisis in American history."

As per Latino Fox News, Rubio openly declared that he will solve America's debt crisis.

Runio then stated, "Every time the alarm starts blaring, signaling we're reaching the debt ceiling, Washington hits the snooze button and goes back to sleep, I will stop this irresponsible spending and solve our nation's debt crisis."
