You can wear them, take them anywhere. They're wearable technology items, and they're slowly catching on.

Amazon is noticing the new trend in technology and is responding by launching a Wearable Technology store on its website today.

Popular items on the Wearable Tech store will be GoPro Cameras, SmartWatches and fitness bands that users wear to keep track of their heart rate and distances traveled.

Recently, adventurous individuals, like snowboarders and motorcyclists, have been taking GoPro Cameras and attaching them to their helmets to record their activities while heading down the slopes or taking their bike out for a spin.

Not only are these devices for the adventurous; they're also for the health conscious. Fitness fanatics love the fitness bands that keep track of their heart rates, steps, distance traveled and more.

Even pet lovers will be able to find use for wearable technology. Tracking collars for dogs are available on the Amazon Wearable Technology store.

"Wearable technology is an exciting category with rapid innovation and our customers are increasingly coming to Amazon to shop and learn about these devices," said John Nemeth, director of Wireless and Mobile Electronics at Amazon. "We're thrilled to bring our customers a store with the largest selection and great prices that helps eliminate the guesswork when deciding which wearable devices best fit their needs — whether that is tracking activity, staying connected through smart watches or capturing their next adventure with wearable cameras".

The new store even offers a Learning Center for would-be customers to learn about new technology before making their purchases. There are articles on the latest technologies available as well.

There seems to be something wearable for everyone, and the trend is catching on. According to a Nielsen poll, nearly half of Americans are interested in owning a wearable device.
