Eminem and Shady Records' Slaughterhouse have announced "Total Slaughter," an UFC-inspired competitive battle rap league that will feature some of hip-hop's most talented rappers.

"What we look at this opportunity as, is a way to do for battle rapping what UFC did for MMA," said Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg. "That's really the model we're basing it on. It's this great thing that a lot of people love, but it's very splintered, and it's very niche, and it's not really brought into the right production levels that it can or should be."

The upcoming inaugural event is partnered up with hip-hop website WatchLOUD.com, which recently released a teaser preview, "Eminem Presents: Total Slaughter 1." Slaughterhouse rapper Joe Budden is set to battle Hollow, while Loaded Lux is to go against Murda Mook. "I'ma kill Joe Budden," says Hollow Da Don in the trailer.

The video clip also features the battle rappers, who have been filmed as part of the reality show leading up to the highly anticipated forthcoming event. The show will follow eight battle rappers as they face-off in the tournaments to ultimately participate in the undercard for the Joe Budden versus Hollow Da Don headlined event.

"Leading into the live event, WatchLOUD.com will release a four-part reality series called Road to Total Slaughter, which will feature eight of the hungriest battle MC's in the country living together and competing for the right to face-off on the undercard of Total Slaughter," a press release says. "Filmed earlier this year in Brooklyn, Road to Total Slaughter will be featured on WatchLOUD in June."

Math Hoffa, Dizaster, Arsonal, Daylyt, Cortez, Marv Won, Big T and Aye Verb were originally announced as part of the show, while T-Rex is also reportedly involved.

"Eminem Presents: Total Slaughter" is scheduled to take place at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, July 12.
