At some point there had to be something that the WWE would do to spur up some more interest in the upcoming card featuring Shane McMahon and the Undertaker. And such did come at WWE Raw.

With the Undertaker making it clear that he is not a puppet or controlled by anyone, the WWE CEO has added another twist to the match which should spice up things a bit. It will be the Undertaker’s last Wrestlemania match if he loses to his son. Such calls to mind again retirement talks involving the “Dead Man” but may still leave some bad taste to the mouth.

Forcing the Issue

With the announcement, Vince McMahon’s recent ultimatum becomes a battle of legacy for the Undertaker. The topic does bring up a couple of past rumors of the “Dead Man” possibly wrestling his final match at the AT&T Stadium though most of it did not involve Shane-O-Mac.

Sting and John Cena were previously linked to wrestling the Undertaker before sending him off to retirement. That was until the two WWE stars fell to separate injuries that left the WWE icon’s continued existence a mystery.

Though the stakes are high now for both stars, the fact remains that retiring at the hands of Shane does make sense. For one, Shane is still a McMahon so what better way than to see the WWE chairman’s son end the reign of the WWE legend.

But in the eyes of the WWE Universe, it doesn’t seem to be fitting considering they could have done better by going with a more high profile star like Cena or Triple H.

With that somehow surprising turn of events, it does bring up some questions on what this matchup will really have to offer. It now becomes a battle of legacy against ownership for the greater good.

Sacrificial Lamb

Physically, not too many believe that Shane has a good chance at the Undertaker especially when wrestling is to be singled out. It is obvious that it is a mismatch and the setting makes it even more daunting.

Being a “Hell in a Cell” match tilts it all the more in the “Dead Man’s” favor. So how can Shane possibly come out the winner with insurmountable odds?

Somehow there may be another twist in the works and all that may be revealed once the two square off at Wrestlemania 32. Will it be an actual match or another mix of surprises and betrayal as WWE fans have seen in the past?
