A coffee shop employee and his coworkers were photographed consoling an emotional customer from the drive-thru window of Dutch Bros. Coffee in Vancouver, Washington. The picture has inspired heartwarming reactions as it makes the rounds on social media.

The picture, taken by Facebook user Barbara Danner, shows the Dutch Bros. Coffee employees reaching out and holding the woman's hand while she sits in her car.

The woman turned out to be a widow who lost her husband the night before and was grieving. She went to get coffee but couldn't hold it together, and the employees noticed. Instead of letting the situation become uncomfortable, the workers turned the encounter turned into a heartwarming moment.

19-year-old employee Pierce Dunn was the first to offer her comfort, after realizing that the woman was hurting. He gave her a free coffee and offered to pray with her.

"[The widow] was extremely grateful that there were people that actually cared about how she was doing,'' Dunn told Today. "If someone comes through and shows that much raw emotion, we're going to give raw emotion right back. There were tears and things that were said that hopefully affected her for the better. She just kept saying thank you."

For those who think that the photo is a publicity stunt, Dunn assured readers that it wasn't. He said the moment was genuine and the gesture came from the heart.

"I don't think the picture does that moment justice because it was such a real moment. It's like time stood still," he said.
