Dean Ambrose of The Shield got his mandatory rematch against Sheamus for the Unites States Championship to kick off Friday Night Smackdown, and ended up eating a Brogue Kick for his troubles, allowing the "Celtic Warrior" to retain the title he recently won in the 20-Man Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal held on Monday Night Raw.

Newly-crowned Intercontinental Champion "Bad New" Wade Barrett teamed up with Cesaro for a tag team bout against former Intercontinental champion Big E (who lost the title to Barrett at Extreme Rules) and Rob Van Dam. Cesaro scored the pin for his team after nailing Big E with the Neutralizer.

Kofi Kingston faced Alexander Rusev for a second time this week and tasted defeat for a second time in a row after the Bulgarian strongman overpowered Kingston yet again and clamped down The Accolade to get the win via submission.

Seth Rollins of The Shield lost to Evolution's Batista after failing to beat the referee's 10-count. Rollins reversed a Batista Bomb, threw himself over the top rope for a Suicide Dive after Batista rolled out of the ring, and attempted another dive off the top rope, landing hard on the announcers table instead of hitting his intended target. Batista beat the referee's 10-count while Rollins writhed in pain to take the victory via count-out. After the match, Batista hit Rollins with a Batista Bomb to further prove his point to The Shield member not to mess with Evolution.

John Cena teamed up with the WWE Tag Team Champion, the Usos, against the Wyatts in a Six-Man Tag Team main event match. A brawl ended up breaking out between all the combatants, with Luke Harper hitting one of the Usos with a clothesline to get the pin. Cena grabbed the mic and said that Bray Wyatt was afraid of him and that Harper's pinfall did not count. The Wyatts returned to ring, only to meet defeat to end the show.
