Pau Gasol is expected to become one of the most coveted free agents this summer, and the veteran center revealed that he will sign with a team that has a good chance of contending for a title next season.

In an interview with Marca, Gasol, who will become an unrestricted free agent starting July 1, said that he could re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers if the team puts an attractive offer on the table, but the 33-year-old superstar added that he will also consider other options.

"I'm not ruling anything out," Gasol said. "Of course, I hope the Lakers will make an offer -- one that is good enough for me to consider -- but I'm open to any offers that I would consider interesting and motivating for my present and my future."

Gasol said that he is also intrigued by the possibility of returning to the Memphis Grizzlies, the team where he spent the first six-and-a-half seasons of his career before getting traded to the Lakers.

"The city of Memphis attracts me because it's a city I know, there's an opportunity of playing with my brother and they have a solid team," Gasol said.

He also added that he would strongly consider signing with the Chicago Bulls because of the opportunity to play alongside Derrick Rose. The possible addition of EuroLeague star and fellow Spaniard Nikola Mirotic could also convince Gasol to make a move to Chicago this summer.

The San Antonio Spurs will also be on Gasol's list of possible destinations, saying that he would love to play under coach Gregg Popovich and the Spurs' team-oriented system.

"The Spurs players maybe don't rack up statistics, but the team and the coach they have, to me, seems like a very good option," Gasol added. "In the end, I'm more interested in a team than an individual player and how I would adjust and be worked into a system."

But while he will be open to playing for the Spurs, one of the Lakers rival in the Western Conference, Gasol ruled out the possibility of signing with the Los Angeles Clippers, saying that it will be very difficult for him to play for the Lakers' city rival.

"Going to the Clippers would be very difficult for me because they're our neighbors and there's a very strong rivalry there. So it would be very difficult for me to consider that as a real option," said Gasol, who averaged 17.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this season.
