Labor Day 2016 in New York

Many people in New York City will head to the biggest event; the annual Labor Day West Indian-American parade in Brooklyn, New York. The parade is on Monday Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning at Schenectady Avenue and Eastern Parkway.

There are tons of other FREE events in NYC for Labor Day 2016 like the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit where you can browse art work, music and photography from up-and-coming artists.

Labor Day 2016 in Los Angeles

There is so much to do in Los Angeles, Calif. for Labor Day 2016 and unlike New Yorkers, summer treats Angelenos with better weather. Checkout the Fiesta Hermosa arts festival at Paramount Studios in Hollywood on Sunday Sept. 4. Head over to the Downtown Hermosa Beach right after for the largest Asian food market in the U.S. Food carts, live music, games and more are available until 4 a.m. EST.

For a low-key family event, you can go fishing in the L.A. River on Monday. The L.A. River Fish Derby named “Off Tha’ Hook” is a FREE event so no need to worry about fishing licensing on Labor Day. For $35, you can compete with other fishers in the FoLAR’s Catch and Release competition.

Labor Day 2016 in Washington DC

What about heading to the Nation’s Capital for Labor Day 2016? You might like watching the Washington Nationals bat against the Atlanta Braves on Monday at 4:05 p.m. EST. Or head to Georgetown to rent a bike or boat for a ride along the Canal National Historical Park or Key Bridge Boathouse.

And there is nothing like learning the history of Labor Day with a visit to the National Museum of American History and taking an interactive tour of the American Enterprise exhibit.

If you are taking a trip to the sunshine state, check out a few Miami Labor Day 2016 events for the three-day weekend.

Checkout the Labor Day Fashion Event in Miami Beach Monday night at 7 p.m. EST. Ticket prices range from $15 to $300. If you are on a budget, head over to The Bar at 1306 in Miami for a 10-dollar-event Sunday night.

Labor Day 2016 marks the 13th annual friends and family Day Beach Bash and Baptism at the Historic Key Beach Park in Miami. This is a charity event, so come as you are and donate what you can. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. EST on Monday.
