Aerial photography has seen a new rise in the past couple of months, thanks to the reliable drones and Go Pro companies like DJI.

Earlier DJI was unable to make portable drones, but that is going to change in 2K16 After this launch of "Mavic" foldable drone, it has changed the whole perception of portability.

The features that enhance the reliability of the drones are remote controls, onboard stabilization, obstacle avoidance sensors, GPS locations and navigation programs.

Now DJI has come up with a portable drone which will fold up and designed for backpacks and large pockets instead of big and bulky specialized carrying cases.

As per DJI STORE,  the New Mavic weighs 1.6 pounds, when folded up it is less than 8 inches long and 3.5 inches both width and length wise. The new OcuSync transmission system offers up to 4.3 miles of transmission range. It will fly up to 40Mph for as long as for 27-minutes.

The true 4K fully stabilised ensures the smooth capturing, ActiveTrack, TapFly and other smart features make professional looking videos more effortless. GPS and GLONASS ensure precise positioning indoor and outdoor shooting. You can also fly your drone with your smartphone over Wi-Fi very easily.

The new drone is definitely easier to pack up for a quick trip because it doesn't require and bulky special case.

According to PM's report, however brilliant the Mavic may be at avoiding tree branches, still, potential buyers will look for the repair policies as much as the convenience of a small drone.

Competitors companies like Ehang and Autel are providing forgiving repair policies and customer services provided by human being on the phone. Offers like to pay for $149 to replace your broken Go Pro attracts the consumers more.

DJI in reply added a new insurance plan called DJI Care Refresh; it will be for $99 that covers damage to the gimbal of the camera, and which will not cover any water damage.
