Levitating audio gear is nothing new but that doesn't stop it to being cool, meanwhile this works better for some type of devices than other devices, it's impressive in Bluetooth speakers. Now LG is trying their hands at this type of products wit its new PJ9 Portable speaker.

According to DigitalTrends President and CEO of LG's Home Entertainment Company Brian Kwon says "Our latest addition to our growing lineup of premium wireless audio devices is not only eye-catching but also conveys the message that LG is serious about bringing something out of the box,"

The Actual speaker part of the PJ9 looks fairly similar with 360 degree speakers, aside from the fact its hovering in midair. The speakers hovers over a base that LG calls the Levitation Station, which houses the electromagnets that keep the speaker suspended in the air. However the Levitation Station also come with a sub-woofer which will output some impressive bass, considering the main speaker small in size.

As per LgNewsRoom the PJ9 creates a stunning visual effects using the powerful electromagnets housed inside the speaker. At the core it is a 360 degree omnidirectional speaker which fires in 360 degree pattern. The PJ9 also features Dual Passive Radiator technology to reproduce flush mid-range tones and crisp highs.

As far as battery concern LG claims that the speakers will stand up to 10 hours of playback time. And when the battery starts running down then the speaker automatically descends on to the Levitation Station, so the users need not to worry about keeping an eye on it after passing eight hours.

So far, LG hasn't said anything about how the PJ9 will be priced, or when it plans to ship the levitating speaker. The company will be showing the PJ9 at its booth at CES next year in the January, so we'll likely know more fairly soon.
