Dante has denied any attempts to force Bayern Munich into resigning him quickly.

The Brazilian defender recently made statements about having garnered interest from Manchester United during the transfer window. He not only stated that he was flattered about the English side's interest but even hinted that the two sides could reach a deal in coming weeks.

"We have to wait until Jan. 31 because there is a lot going on," said Dante, according to ESPN.

Many saw this statement as a veiled threat toward his current club Bayern Munich in hopes of getting the German champions to react and attempt to sign Dante as soon as possible.

However, Dante has since clarified the statements and has insisted that he never intended to send any message to his club.

"You might think that I stand to profit a little from my name being mentioned somewhere, but I don't need that. I mean no disrespect to the media, but it's my performance on the pitch that are important, not what happens in the press," he stated, according to ESPN. "I don't know how big the interest is, and I'm delighted to be at FC Bayern. Today, I am playing for the best club in the world. And only if Bayern tell me to pack my bags will I say goodbye."

Manchester United is reportedly looking to improve on the backend and would likely benefit from the gifted Brazilian's presence.
